The sculptures I create are predominantly large scale outdoor metal sculptures. Installation commissions are designed specifically to enhance the environment they inhabit.

The process can start with a brief or specific design from the curator, this then allows me to delve deeper in to the available options and embody the requirements desired.

When larger sculptures are created, my background in engineering helps design the required strength of sculpture and foundations, with more specialist calculations carried out by chartered engineers when required.

Using fresh steel or recycled pieces I am able to use my extensive workshop at our family farm, along with a team of people and specialists I can create large and intricate designs.  Computer modelling skills allow high precision within the design process.

Where possible I enjoy studying my inspirations under a microscope or out in the world. This allows me to create the desired movement and coherent structure in my work.
